Summer is coming to an end but there is still time to wrap up a few more adventures before the snow flies. Here are a few of my favorite Western Colorado Staycation ideas that you and your family are sure to love!
Colorado Trails Ranch is a dude ranch located in Durango. It is a great getaway for the whole family. Not only do they offer great rooms but you can also enjoy horse back riding, hiking, picnic, scavenger hunt, crafts, petting zoo, fishing, swimming, rafting, archery, power tubing, basketball, western dancing, hayrides, camp fires and SO much more!
Durango & Silverton Train Rides are the perfect end of summer trip. Who would not love a fun ride while being pulled along by a steam engine? There are a few different tour packages to choose from and I’m sure you will be able to find one that is perfect for your family!
Glenwood Springs is a great place for a Western Slope Staycation. With Glenwood cavers, the hot springs and hanging lake your weekend is sure to be filled with fun and adventure. Not to mention all the great food and shopping available as well.
Great Wolf Lodge in Colorado Springs is a great staycation adventure in itself. But the adventure does not end at the lodge and indoor water park. Colorado Springs is also home to Garden of the Gods, North Pole Theme Park, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and Cave of the Winds.
Jet Boat Tours is a fun and exciting way to wrap up your summer fun. This adventure is not only thrilling but is filled with some beautiful sights as you jet down the Colorado River.
Mesa Verde National Park has over 5000 archeological sites and over 3 Million artifacts rotated through their visitor center as well as interactive exhibits there is always something new and different.
Moffat County Hot Air Balloon Festival is this weekend (August 3-5). Balloon Launches are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings and the festival is filled with other events such as live music, a car show, Native American dancers, inflatables, night time balloon glow and more!
Olathe Sweet Corn Festival is this weekend (August 3) and some of the festivities include vendors and live music from Craig Campbell.
Ouray Hot Springs is the perfect weekend getaway. Enjoy time relaxing and spending time with loved ones while you soak up some sun.
Palisade Peach Festival takes place August 15 – 18. The festival includes live music, vendors, parade, car show, orchard tours, etc…
