When it comes to choosing the perfect Kitchen Backsplash there can be a lot of factors to go over. For example what material to use, color combinations, style of your kitchen, etc… It can be overwhelming to try to think of all these options and best way what is perfect for you. Here are some tips to think about when you are choosing the perfect kitchen backsplash for your area!

Where – The first step you will need to take is to decide where you want your backsplash to go. Would you like it to be just behind the stove or wrap around your kitchen and fit under the cabinets. You will want to take the placement of the backsplash into account before you decide on material, colors, and style.

Materials – When you hit up the hardware store you might be overwhelmed by just how many different materials and different looks they have available for kitchen backsplashes. At Lowes alone you will find 6 different looks; Mosaic, Subway, Wood, Stone, Marble, and Patterned.

Style – what is the overall look of your kitchen? Would you consider your kitchen rustic, farmhouse, modern, Tuscan, etc… What ever backsplash you decide on you will want to make sure that it fits with your overall look and theme.

Does it flow – The backsplash is usually the last piece of a Kitchen to be installed. If you already have your counter tops picked out or installed then you will want to take a look at them to help you decide your overall style for your backsplash. If you have busy counter tops then you might want pick out something simple for your backsplash. If however, your counter tops are plain and simple then you might want a splash of color for some added creativity in your kitchen. Or you might want to choose simple on simple and that is perfect as well. Another item to look at is how well the backsplash will flow with your cabinets. If you have dark cabinets then you might want a lighter and brighter backsplash and vice versa if you have light cabinets.

As a handyman, I have installed many backsplashes over the years. I know just how much they can change the whole aesthetic of your room. I hope that each and every one of you will take these things into consideration when choosing your new Kitchen Backsplash!
