Decluttering Tasks You Can Do in 10 Minutes

Everyone loves the feeling of a clean home. But sometimes, clutter sneaks up on you and before you know it, it can take over your space. Luckily, there is a quick and easy fix for most of your household clutter and it can take you less then 10 minutes to clean most of it up. Here is my list of Decluttering Tasks You Can Do in 10 Minutes of less!

Refrigerator

Your fridge might me one of the most used places that gets the least cleaning attention. Fortunately, it is a relatively small space and can be cleaned up quickly. I encourage you to take the time this week to open those doors and remove everything from your shelves and drawers. Give the inside a good wipe down and put back the items you choose to keep. This task will take less time then you think!

Your Front Entrance

The Entrance to your home is the first look that company will get of your home. What impression are you giving them? If they walk up your front walk to a doorway filled with cobwebs then it might be a great idea to take a broom and wipe it all off, or grab your hose and spray them all away. The same goes for the first few steps inside your home. If they are surrounded by your kids’ coats thrown on the floor or piles of shoes at the entrance then now might be a good time to clean them all up.

Incoming Paperwork/ Mail

It is so easy to walk in the door and pile up your mail in one spot. After a few trips to the mail box this pile can quickly grow out of hand. Take 10 minutes and go through your pile of paperwork/mail that you might have accumulated. After you have finished, find an easy spot that you can delegate as your incoming paperwork/mail spot. This could be a bag tucked away someplace, a cute decorative basket or bin etc… have fun with it.

Night Stand

Your night stand is another place that can quickly accumulate clutter. Now is the perfect time to clean up those water glasses, medicine bottles and other random items that might have stacked up over the days.

Spices

How long has it been since you looked inside your spice cupboard? Do you even know what is buried back there? Why not take 10 minutes out of your day and toss out any empty or expired spices?

Under Sinks

Those cupboards under your sinks are the darkest, most dreary places in your home. It is easy for a lot of clutter to hide there. Good thing that there is not that much space there and it can be tidied up quickly. So toss out those old cleaning products and such. No matter how many sinks you have in your home, it won’t take you much time at all to get all of those cupboards back into tip top shape.

Your Wallet/Purse

It is shocking to me the things I can find in my wallet/purse sometimes. Old receipts, candy wrappers, non-working pens, etc…Dump it out and toss all that junk that you definitely don’t need in there anymore. You won’t regret it! Plus you wont have to dig round next time you need to find a Chapstick or a pen!

One of the biggest things to remember is that this is not a race. Take your time when cleaning things out but don’t overthink it. If you have not used it in over 6 months then maybe you should consider regifting it or tossing it completely. You can schedule pick up times for so many of your donatable items from places like the Salvation Army. You will feel so much better and have more peace of mind when your home is clutter free. So, what are you waiting for?
