Spring Cleaning Checklist

Spring Cleaning Checklist

I am so happy to finally have a few warm days. Today as I was cleaning out my flower beds I noticed that my tulips and daffodils are starting to peek through the ground. I can’t wait to see their beautiful blooms again. Seeing the fresh greens starting to come out is just another reminder that spring is just around the corner and it’s time to start thinking about my Spring Cleaning!

I don’t know what it is about Spring time that just makes me want to deep clean everything and donate, donate, donate. The past few years I have made it my personal goal to donate more bags then I did the year before. I’m not sure how it is possible to accumulate so much stuff over a 1 year period…but somehow it happens.

My favorite way to keep track of my Spring Cleaning is to print off a Spring Cleaning Checklist. This Spring Cleaning checklist not only helps make sure that I stay on track but really helps me to not miss something as I am deep cleaning my home. The Spring Cleaning checklist is broken down room by room so I can just focus on one room per day until my home is completely cleaned from top to bottom.

Bedroom

  1. Dust Furniture – this is the time that I also break out the furniture polish and make everything shine.
  2. Clean Under Bed – This includes donating all the items that have been stored under there that I have not used all year.
  3. Wash Pillows
  4. Wash Duvet Base
  5. Wash/Vacuum Floor – For me that means shampooing the carpets.
  6. Dust Celling & Lights
  7. Dust Pictures & Décor – I also like to update any décor that does not bring me happiness any longer.

Bathroom

  1. Throw empty bottles – I also like to go through all my makeup and hair products and toss anything that has not been used in awhile.
  2. Throw old hair/makeup brushes
  3. Wash floor & tiles
  4. Wash shower curtain – I also like to replace the shower curtain liners.
  5. Clean toilet
  6. Clean out storage units – toss anything that is no longer used.

Garage

  1. Clean storage units – I always find lots of junk to declutter on my storage shelves.
  2. Organize tools
  3. Throw/Donate Junk – It never fails, the garage gets filled with totes of items throughout the year. This is a great time to go through all of that stuff and donate what you can.
  4. Clean all Surfaces
  5. Clean Out Car
  6. Wash Car & Other Floor Mats
  7. Dust Ceiling & Lights
  8. Wash Floor

  3. Wipe down Appliances
  4. Dust Shelves & Décor – I also like to declutter all my knick knacks at this time.
  5. Dust Frames – I also like to update any family photos.
  6. Deep Clean Carpets
  7. Dust & Water Plants
  8. Clean Light Fixtures
  9. Organize Drawers
  10. Wash Floors – shampoo carpets if you have them.
