Two Easy Organizing Hacks!

I was at a dinner party before the quarantine hit and I heard a friend comment in passing that she would never be able to have an organized home because her house was too small. This started a conversation with many of the ladies there and they all began to nod their heads in agreement. I know that this is a consensus in many households across the nation. Too much stuff and not enough storage. Does that mean you should get rid of it all? Absolutely not! I mean, I am all for downsizing if you need to and please don’t hoard. However, if they are items that your family truly enjoys then by all means, keep them! Two of the items that are most used but take up a lot of space in my home are DVDs and Board Games. We love to have family game nights and it is fun to have a variety of games to choose from but it is not fun to try to dig them out of the top of a closet somewhere. That is why I thought I would share with you all my tips for two easy organizing hacks.

Movie Disc Organization

Americopy 100 Big CPP Clear Plastic Sleeve with Flap

One way that you can cut down on your DVD storage is to throw out the cases. You can buy clear plastic sleeves from Amazon that will hold up to 2 discs each. This will dramatically free up some space once all your DVD’s are no longer in cases!

Organizing Hacks

I like these because I have a lot of two disc movies. To organize them you can just slide out the Movie pamphlet and fold it in half. Then you can easily insert it into one of the clear plastic sleeves. Then just slid the discs into the slots and you are good to go. Check out how much room you can free up with these amazing sleeves!

Board Game Organization

How many of you have a closet full of board games and puzzles? If you have a stack of them on a high shelf them I am betting they do not get played as much as you would like. Probably because you know that if you try to grab a game out the whole stack will come tumbling down. Am I right?

If you love to build puzzles or play board games then I have just the solution for you! Check out these great storage bags that can be found on Amazon!

These bags are the perfect size to store board games and puzzles. You can store the board in a larger bag and utilize the smaller bags for safe keeping of the smaller pieces. Place everything into the large bag including the games instructions. If you have lost them or if they are printed on the box then you can always print some offline. I also like to cut the main logo off the front of the box or print one out that I can tape onto the front of each bag. Use packaging tape and make sure that you have it firmly attached. Then you can toss the empty boxes away!
